Home Automation

We often hear the term home automation when it comes to larger homes or luxury homes, but what is home automation exactly?

In essence, home automation is the automatic control of electronic devices in your home. These devices are connected to the Internet, which allows them to be controlled remotely. With home automation, devices can trigger one another, so you don’t have to control them manually via an app or voice assistant. For example, you can put your lights on schedule so that they turn off when you normally go to sleep, or you can have your thermostat turn the A/C up about an hour before you return to work, so you don’t have to return to a stuffy house.

Home automation makes life more convenient and can even save you money on heating, cooling, and electricity bills. Home automation can also lead to more excellent safety with the Internet of Things devices like security cameras and systems.

Home automation also applies to the multiple control of various items in your home to automatically perform a particular "scene."  For example, you could have a button on your home automation system programmed as "Movie Time." By pressing this single button, you could have your TV switch on a specific channel like Netflix, all other lights around the house are turned off, and an ambient light comes on in your lounge or cinema room.

Another popular activity is "Good Morning." By pressing this button, you could have your blinds automatically roll up, your TV switched on to the news channel, and ambient lighting in your kitchen switched on.

We believe home automation is all about simplifying your home living experience, making it easier for you to get things done without needing 5 or 6 remotes.

It is popular in a smart home to have an 8" or 10" touch screen situated at various points in the house. Through this "hub," you can control your entire home from lighting, security, HVAC, audio, and video. Even lighting a gas fireplace can now be automated at a touch of a button.

Security has formed an integral part of home automation. You can’t put a price on the peace of mind that comes with knowing your loved ones are safe and what’s most precious and treasured are secure whether you are at home or away.

Continuous system feedback on a mobile device confirms the status of door locks and alarms, the exact positions of gates and garages, and provides real-time views of cameras.

Cinema Architects employs a team of highly qualified integration specialists trained explicitly in various home automation hardware and software brands. Programming knowledge is vital when setting up a home automation system correctly. We have often been called in to fix or correct systems, and we find that the initial layout and programming were set up incorrectly from the beginning. This is often due to a lack of knowledge of these systems.

Our team has highly acclaimed CEDIA accreditation; in fact, Cinema Architects has the honor of having 5 CEDIA accredited members and the only two female CEDIA certified members in the world in our team.

We are versed in all brands of home automation systems, including Crestron, Elan, Control 4, and Savant.
